four weeks have passed and my ball still wont eat, i was told that this could just be because of the arrival of spring. its strange, she never had this problom before. she has good tounge flicking and she comes so close that her nose touches the mouse then she turns away quickly. any ideas?

I feel your pain. I've got a female that hasn't eaten since Dec. 16 and a male that had his last meal on Nov. 15
It's driving me nuts.

Yep, mine hasn't eaten since November. Yesterday was up in the low 70's for the first time this year. I took her out on the porch for a while to let her know that it's finally spring. Hopefully by Friday she'll be ready to eat. If not, it's time to try a gerbil.

What about males? I had heard that balls sometimes fast this time of year, but all of you are talking about females. Do males do it too? Cause my boy hasn't eaten in a month and a half...getting worried.

My male went off feed a few weeks ago, after I moved him to another cage (that's basically identical to his old one). He still looks pretty chunky though, so I'm not real worried.... He's a ball python!

I might offer him a live if he doesn't eat again soon, but they're known to go off feed for a long time.

My male is currently in month 5 of his hunger strike.

Thanks, that makes me feel a bit better. I still won't be completely relieved until he finally decides to eat. But at least he is alert and happy and healthy.
