Wow, has it been that long? I remember those like it was yesterday! Time flies.

I love the mean head-on look of the barnecks. They always look like they're ready to tear you a new one. That's what I love most about them!! Again, great pics guys.

I recently acquired one of Andy's amethystine(southern scrub) pythons and wanted to share some pics, she is extremely tame and according to Andy she was used for educational shows and with her temperment I can believe it. The pictures aren't as good as Kara's but hopefully I can convince her to snap a few shots of my snakes later this year??

"Sparkles" cage is about 5 feet tall with several shelves to climb on and she seems to love the whole cage!!

Although the enclosure seems small here it is actually 48 inches long by 24 inches deep by 60 inches tall. If you look closely you can see some of her amazing irridescence in this picture.

I can never seem to get a good picture of my wife smiling with any of our snakes, although she loves them and actually brought home our first snake from NERD!!

Quit posting scrub pics! I really miss selling mine :(...
What is the size range on Barnecks? Also, are they NG or Australian species? They sure are gorgeous, I can definately see me owning one again soon.

CJ,
That cage sounds pretty rad! How do you provide heat gradient? Is it from the top down? What do you use for heat? I would love to build a nice arboreal cage but I worry about providing proper heat gradients...

ok well I have a couple of ways to insure heat, the cage itself never goes below 78 degrees,I have heat lamps running both day and night, either a basking bulb for 12 hours of daylight or a ceramic heater for nightime use. Half the cage has a false shelf that is about half the length of the cage with a heat tape running through it. There is a ceramic heater hanging off the bottom of the false shelf. All the lights and ceramic heaters are guarded by enclosures so the snake can't come in contact with them directly and burn herself. I am running 2 thermostats one for the lower half of the cage and one for the upper. It has taken along time to get everything working properly, but I finally did. As soon as I am done decorating the cage I will get some pictures posted.
