Anyone else out there with 04' FlamethrowerXPoison Ivy Tiger "Het" Calicos? I have a male who is maturing into what I'm calling a "White Tiger Flame Calico"... His silver medallions have turned almost entirely white, his entire body has started to become mottled and burnt looking, and he has numerous spots washing out, some have washed to white already... Just wondering what others are experiencing...
Peace,
Grant
Lets see some pics hot shot
And I'm staring down the barrel of a 45. :P

Simmer folks. I'm sure Grant will post pics when he gets a chance.

You better bring him up with you on Saturday. I really want to see him. Second MALE that I have heard of in the last month that seems to be changing that we sold. Pretty exciting stuff. Calicos absolutely rock. We just need to figure out the right pairings to be able to guarantee and produce a full clutch of calicos.
They are the coolest looking snakes that just seem to be thrown by the waste side by alot of people because they didnt want to put the work into prooving them out.

I have pics of him on Missy's computer at work... Prior to his last shed, I took some close-ups of a few of the areas that were already weird... I'll see if she can get them tomorrow... I'll definitely bring him up this weekend so you can see how he looks...
fkdmatt... Now I get what the fkd means... You're f*cked... There was absolutely no reason for you to even post on this thread... It simply proves that you are a mindless idiot...

I thought you were full of it, because I havent heard that cross was done. My bad.
Gentlemen,
Please take it down a notch. Blatant antagonism is not welcome on these boards. If you're hell-bent on continuing in this manner, please take it to PM's so the rest of the thread can remain on-topic. I do not like having to moderate...but this forum is a drama-free zone and we'd like to keep things reasonably fun around here.
If there's any confusion, please feel free to review the Basic Forum Rules (http://www.newenglandreptile.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=13) thread.
Thank you both for your cooperation & understanding!

It's funny....... Only calicos I've ever owned, whether it was an ATB, a domestic cat, or now this retic have all been males... He'll feel reel stupid when he realizes the calico genes have the ability to make the most intense snakes ever, only thing is, you'll never get a clutch that all look the same... Imagine if you could get an entire clutch of flames!

Personally I'm glad there aren't a bunch of little Flames running around out there. The fact that he's so unique is part of his charm. Not that more wouldn't be welcome...just not huge numbers. ;)

Yes he did. all of his white spots turned black with a few sheds he was looking very diff.
unfortunatly he passed away 2 days ago :smt010
all his activities where normal. eating, sheds, always easy to handle..?
I actually just today e-mailed N.E.R.D. in hopes of putting a deposit down on a replacement. than having it shipped when it warms up(here in minnesota)
I am guessing you would be the one to handle it ?
am I right Andy?
I am the one to talk to Tom. Im really sorry to hear about that. You didnt have updated pics did you??? Sorry to ask and bring it up I just got to see it. Your female getting nice and big??? Were hoping to prove anthrax this year. And I defanately got what you need.

I can agree with that... I just can't help but imagine sitting on the grass in the middle of ten Flames... What really turns me on to Flame is that he's like a "yin yang phase", he looks like two snakes perfectly chopped up and pieced together into one... I still think Kevin has found a form of Alchemy that uses snakes instead of metal... ::laughs:: If only you could get a "Flame" that is a combination of Anthrax and Ivy, THAT would truly be the "yin yang phase"...

Anyone else out there with 04' FlamethrowerXPoison Ivy Tiger "Het" Calicos
I have a male tiger out of that clutch. I haven't seen any signifigant changes as of yet. He is by far the best looking tiger I have seen, but I'm a little biased. ;)
But Bob says Calicos are a waste of time and there are no male Calicos ever just ask Steve the Goocher
My male out of a breeding from Penny and an albino male seems to be changing. He is in shed now and dull as hell and I can see more white appearing. My fingers are crossed on him.

I assume "Penny" is a calico? Breeding a calico to an albino would just result in a double het albino calico... So, not to be disheartening, but I don't think him changing is possible...
I'll try to get pics of my FTxPI soon, I don't have a camera that produces the quality I want... Maybe when I bring him to NERD we can take some pics with their camera...

Yes, Penny is a calico. I thought the same till I talked to Andy and he told me that they have seen hets change(be it no too common). I took pics before he went into shed and will compare them to him when he sheds. He had alot of color coming up his sides when I got him last year(he should be 2 yrs. of age now). Keep in mind that technically all the different forms of calico haven't been proven compatible yet.
There is so much different stuff happening with the trait and all of the different breeding combonations taking place. Not to mention all the "separate" lines of calicos that NERD have. The sky is the limit.
The tiger calico should have just been a het. Calicos are weird. Went I sent Ryan that male I told him that I thought it would change. It was weird then. I cant wait to see some new pics.

It is true, you can not hold logic to the calico genes. That is why everyone that has had calicos gets out. They just don't understand. :smt017

all i want to say is if you love retics and even seen pics youd know these two animals. I haf the privlege of seeing poison ivy first hand and I think i may have wet myself when I saw her. :smt016
Exactly! How many breeder snakes are known by name?? Not many that I can think of. We have "Flame" offspring, "Flamethrower" offspring, "Anthrax" babies, "Poison Ivy" babies, "Golden Child" babies, and "Medusa" babies to name a few. I think its pretty cool that the our retics are known by name by our loyal customers. :smt004

Breeding stock like that is exactly the reason I keep coming back to feed my addiction. Not to mention the killer customer service. :smt023

LOL...no. Even in racehorses I've never heard of a stud fee over half a mil.
Besides, horses only have one baby a year...not quite the same as a clutch of eggs.
Nice wishful thinking though!

I found an old pic that I had on disk, when I was looking for pics of my Gilleni... It's an old picture, before he really started to bling and before I made the original post... If you look really closely you can see some cool stuff, notice the "white crown" and the "burnt" lines where a stripe never was, you can also see some black flecking on the neck which has intensified since this pic was taken... This is just a taste, wait till I can get some better CURRENT pictures...

Wait till I get you some new pics or I bring him up... He's really starting to bling now... He's getting pretty big too... It's all the pregnant hamsters we've been feeding him... Thanks for the positive remark, as I was looking at "posts since last visit" and I saw that you had responded, I said to Missy "Oh god, get ready for Andy's snide remarks..." lol... Did you see my post about my Gilleni? :smt023
Tell me when you and Tammy are going to Bill's show at the Aquarium... Unless of course we're not cool enough...
Not this sunday but the sunday after I think

Eve is from Flame Thower x Poison Ivy's '04 clutch...She's gorgeous, she's also just a het calico, but she's not a tiger...Also, she's too young for me to be expecting any drastic changes to assure me she's going to take on the calico traits...She does have the silver eyes at least... :biggrin2: ...I'd luv to see yours because I'm envious of anyone who got one of the tiger het calicos, and straight up jealous of the tiger calico owners...Check out my pics of Eve if you'd like...there easy to access for comparisons if you want.....
