Does anyone have an opinion on Coconut Bark {I feed in the cage F/T}. Going to the show this weekend and want to get some supplies for redoing my cages.
Use it for reptiles other than snakes and don't have problems with it. I've considered it for GTP's as it holds humidity rather well...although the spots under a water dish seem to grow some "fur"...what's wrong with newspaper? Doesn't get any safer than that!

Coconut bark does tend to mildew rather easily. And it is one of the worst things you could put ball pythons on. They like to burrow... the stuff will get in their mouths and heat pits, more than likely causing infection. If swallowed, may cause impaction. Why risk it?
Use newspaper and a humid hide if your enclosures don't hold humidity.

ive had bad experiences with balls and coconut bark, more than once have i had to yank a peice of it out when they missed the mouse and got a piece of bark. had to pull it out with my fingers because hemostats just make it break apart, still have little tooth marks on my finger tips.
why don't you feed in a different tank then?
