Reptile relief?

Has anyone ever used Reptile Relief from Natural Chemistry??? If so, did you like it, why or why not?

We have no problems now I just want to research different products before I ever need one.

I have used it. It seems to work pretty well. I am not a big fan of spraying anything except clean water on my personal animals, but I used this to help a friend out with one of his retics that had mites and it did work. I'm am still unsure if I would personally use it, but I have seen it in action. I just worry about long term effects. But thats me....

I've had very mixed results with it, it seems to do a good job on killing the mites on the snake, but not very effective getting rid of them inside the cage. I now use PAM, I had an albino burmese get mites, I used PAM once, and I haven't had any mites return since.

I had a bad case of mites and NERD recommended Provent-A-Mite for the enclosure and just soaking the snake in water with a drop or two of dish soap. The dish soap doesn't kill the mites but breaks the surface tension and keeps the mites from surviving in a air pocket under the scales. I soaked the snake for 2 hours in just enough water to cover it's body and sprayed the enclosures with the Provent-A-Mite and let them air out while the snake soaked. Do NOT Spray the snake or reptile with Provent-A-Mite. One application and no signs of mites now 3 months later. :clap: :clap: :clap:

PS: remove water and substrate during treatment, put newspaper in cages until you are sure there are no more mites!

Nerd also told me 2 use Provent a mite it worked well.

While I don't have nearly the number of snakes that NERD has, we have quite a few ourselves and PAM is the only thing that we use. IF we have an outbreak, I want them gone fast and PAM does it.

Provent-a-Mite is good stuff, I spray it in all my cages when I get a new animal, just to make sure nothing will live there!

Reptile Relief is very good at killing on contact. The trick with soaking in water and soap to drown the mite is a very good one, but if the mites are mainly located on the head area, the snake will most liekly keep its head above water, hence the mites won't drown. This is where reptile relief is handy. You can just put it on a cloth and gently use it on the snake, and sometimes on the head (depending on the size of the snake, it is not recommended to use it near eyes and mouth).

But I would never use reptile relief on its own. I think a combo of RR and PAM is the best way to go.

I used it and it didnt work for crap. I ended up getting the Permethrin (I think that is how its spelled) solution from the pharmacy. Its the consistency of hair conditioner and is used for kids with lice. Mix a small amount in a spray bottle with water and spray down the entire snake (not too much near the eyes) and their enclosure. Very safe and extremely effective. Treated a mite outbreak among 5 snakes with one treatment.

ive used reptile relief twice, once on an amazon tree boa, and once on a frilled dragon, and it worked perfect each time. i bleached the cage (about 20 percent bleach) and everything in it ,rinsed it well, sprayed the animal after soaking it in water while the cage was being sanitized, and did this every 3 days for 9 days and it worked like a charm.

The only thing I've ever used to prevent mites is the Hot-Shot Mo-Pest Strip.
I set one of these outside the snakes enclosure or snake room and have never had a mite.

This is a big time preventative.

Just putting them outside the enclosure keep the mites away? That sounds like a great preventative.
