I have a snake tattoo on my forearm, its nothing special so I never bothered to take a picture of it. Your seaturtle idea sounds pretty cool, post pics if you get it.
I was going to get some traditional Tongan tattoo's done a few years ago with a traditional "honu" (sea turtle, at least I think that is the right word). I'll try to dig up some pics if I can...

I don't have one yet, but I haven't really sat down and taken the time out to search out and make sure I've got a good tattoo artist. I was thinking about putting a crested gecko on me sompleace (probably shoulder), but I have not decided for sure.
At this rate, I may end up with a tarnatula tattoo on me someplace..I'm seriously addicted. My first snake has also been considered as a tattoo.

Yeah, Tongan tattoos are so cool. That whole polynesian look and feel. There so much to the art in them. I think from a distance some of them look like dark black ink, but when you get closer, you can see designs that are really close together. I think I read that somewhere. Dunno!?!? I have a mother and baby dolphin jumping through a wave together above my ankle. The artist that did it rocked. Its an original. He also did a rainforest scene on his wifes back! To cool! And to think he gave up being a cop to pursue his art. Smart guy, better pay :dollarus:

I've got a dragon on one arm and celtic knotwork on the other. The dragon was just some pretty flash, but the knotwork is all original, drawn by my ex-husband and I kept all copies of the drawing, so there will never be another tattoo exactly like it :) One of the few things from that ex that I actually like.
I think Andy needs to show off his herp-related tats. They're pretty darn cool!

My ink tells the story of my life (so far):
"Skate and Destroy" on my leg = I'm a skater
big heart-shaped cover up on shoulder = failed major relationship
"eighth-note digging into flesh" on my back = music industry background
"ring of skulls" on ankle = family stuff
Danzig skull on shoulder = because it looks badass!!!! :headbang:
western diamondback on abdomen = snake fan for life!
Think that's about it for now...
We have a snowpix thread, how 'bout an inkpix thread?
Oh, and the Chinese powdered inks are the most vivid I've ever seen! Ask if your artist uses them.

well, you know how tattoos are, you can't have just one... if you get a sea turtle and then decide to elaborate it might come out funny.
I say get a group of little baby sea turtles, all cute with big heads and flippers maybe three or four, off center down the middle and then do some mild pastel colored swirly water around them and yellow stars...
yes...yellow stars. I like that.

She already has one tat. She wants another.... I think the baby sea turtles from finding nemo would just be the bomb.
The tat she has now is awesome. Its a mother and baby dolphin jumping over her ankle bone. Very nice work. I will take pics.
I have a half sleeve, that not completely finished, thats all reptiles. All black and white wash..... really sharp work. I'll get pics of those also.

yeah I think the ring of turtles or something like it would be cute. I found some cool artwork for that before. I'm thinking more along the lines of ...sort of mosaic. I know I want it to look like its swimming up my lower back, definetly detailed head and flippers, but the body I want sort of abstract or mosaic detail. Hard to explain. I saw a pic once in a book of an American Indian symbolisms of a turtle and it came close, hell if I remember where i saw it. Guess I have to get a hold of Sams tatto artist guy and see if he can draw something up for me. This is sort of an idea somebody sent me. Be great if I had a built in pool!!!

Yeah, any small herp or T that I decide to have inked on my body, will be pretty detailed. If I get a t, I want it to look like it's acutally walking on my skin..same for the smalll herp..
What's funny, is I got a gecko henna done this summer, when I was pretty pale. I tanned during that week of camping where I got it done...and I have a faint curl of gecko tail still on my ankle. Gotta love some tan lines...the weird blobs in the middle of my feeet from my sandles, I could do with out though :smt019
