I was kinda disturbed by this...I'm bad as far as knowing which tarantulas have really nasty hairs, but this can't be fun on the throat, regardless of taste...

The guy who made that page made it as a joke. He put the spider in there and then put parts of its molt in the shake afterwards. He did not kill or drink the "spider shake."

I do know that people in the rainforest eat bird spiders/bird tarantulas

It's a specific tribe,and I think the T's are a delicacy. However, the T used is an OW species. Ingesting a NW species that had been roasted that has urticating hairs would give you a lot of problems.

The cool thing about the U.S. army and tarantulas are they were used as bio warfare in WWII... Well, the NW species were... They put the urticating hairs in the German army's detergent and soap they used to wash their clothes... I bet ehy had alot of fun in their pants and all over... YUMMY!!!
