My poor Avicularia huriana. Had a bad molt and lost one of her beautiful pink toes.

This is what she looked like before she molted. It's a clickable thumbnail. The acutal photo size was breaking the forum

The toe will come back. I think she's finally doing better. (she is an assumption) She looked like she was going into a slow decline for a bit, but I think she's finallly hungry now.

Here's an old picture of the first T I bought. It's a Pink Zebra Beauty. I'm waiting for it to molt....I swear the T's conspire with the snakes, and decide for everybody to molt/shed at once..and then watch their "owner" go nuts with the wait. :smt016

How's the PZB doing so far? I remember picking up one as an adult...seemed like the first time they came into the country?...first I had heard or seen of them....looked to be a good sized female...molted..MALE...wandered the cage for a good 8 months before the ever popular sky worship... wound up making a nice hands on display for the kids.. :smt013 :smt013 :smt013

I think I've stuffed it full. I keep thinking it's going to molt, but it hasn't yet. :-k I probably won't offer it food for a while, it's not taking it.

I have cut back quite a bit on my feeding, since I think I was accidently doing the equivalent of powerfeeding. I could hold it, but I typically don't...and I had quite a reaction to her hairs the first time. My friend complained when she looked at all my T's and found out I hadn't gotten any new holdable ones. I told her, I don't buy for holdability :P I perfer not to hold my T's anyway, although I still haven't mastered the art of picking one up correctly and I should learn how to do so.

Other than that, it's doing great. I don't think it's full size yet, and it doesn't really have the sheen of pastel pink hairs. It's not A. semenai (spelling way off on that one) though, I've checked the spinnerettes, and very docile anyway. That one came from a local petstore..everybody else was either from an invert dealer or a reptile specialty place.

Btw, after some discussion on arachnoboards, I really think my PZB was mislabled and is acutally a Chaco Golden Knee. So now I've got a super slow grower on my hands...oh well :smt005 I'm pretty cool with it either way, although a little disgusted that I've been promoting a PZB as a good starter T, when I haven't acutally had one :smt009 Don't get me wrong, a PZB is a good starter T, but I don't have experience with the sepcies, like I thought :smt018

Yeah you most definetly have a chaco gold knee. but that is wayyyyyyyy cooler then any PZB. There super chill and get pretty freakin big for a freindly T. There no longer imported into the country and you can only get them captivebred so its worth way more then a PZB too. That is one sweet T, if you like that one you should look into getting a Brazilan black there pretty smokin also

The brazillian black is on my wishlist. Don't know when I'll get one though, I am attempting to hold off on buying for a while, so I can pay some of my debts down a bit and save up spending $$$ for my vacations this summer.

And as for getting the brazillian black...I think I need more Pokies first.
