Look at those chubsters. Very cute. They're so big they look like gravid females.

Easy Padraig, Instead of feeding them pinkies once every week I now offer them as many mice as they can eat in one sitting, once a month. They love it, in the pic's above each male has had 2 large mice each.

Padraig, I meant to ask you if Hissing roaches are any good, at our facility we only breed two types of feeder roaches (Hissers & Deatheads) but I've heard these are'nt the best due to digestion problems. I must admit that I've had no troubles over the years feeding the larger Varanids on Hissers but I've never fed Adult Hissers to my Ackies (mainly due to there size). We recently brought some German roaches, which would of been perfect for the Ackies as they are small and are fast breeders, but my Ackies won't touch them.
I've been feeding my Ackies on half grown hissers which are'nt to big and they don't seem to have any problems digestion wise. Do you think I should carry on with this or look for another feeder roach.

Im struggling with the same problem............As amatter of fact Im testing a bunch or Roaches this week a whole bunch. A breeder is sending me some samples to see what works with ackies.......Hissers and Cranifer are definetly for bigger varanids also they must have more chiton which I think with ackies is a problem since more basking is needed to process it in adults and little acks just cant handle it sometimes......Im trying Discoids, Dwarf Hissers,Dubia, B.Laterallis and Orangeheads. Out of these a consenus by me and the breeder has been reached that Dubia and Lateralis are probably going to be the best bet. Lateralis are non climbers and can match Lobsters in production but only get an inch the size of a crircket. I think Dubia will work since Bearded Dragons thrive on them supposedly. Ill have to see. Maybe move onto a new species because Germans are infesters...... Ive always beeen of the opinion if it works dont screw with it. I hate crickets, thats why Im moving onto just roaches in the next 6-7 months.
