colubrid breeding question

i'm new to breeding snakes. i've got a male northern pine snake and an applegate gopher snake. are these snakes that can be bred together? from what i've read so far, they seem to be pretty close as far as species go. i'm thinking that it might be possible, but i'd appreciate any advice.
