:clock: I've been putting a silly amount of effort into the axolotls I dont even have yet. I'm so excited that they're coming in this week that I just couldn't contain myself.
Any axolotl enthusiasts out there?
I'll post pics as soon as I get them! :happy9:

Just teasin' Andy! Actually I had a great axolotl set up. They are fascinating creatures. I had one that was normal dark green color and another that was an albino. I loved them they were way too cool. I did not know much about them back then and I added some fish to the tank. The fish proceeded to eat the gills right off them. I know they can regenerate limbs, but they did not grow back the gills in time before they died. I guess this is a good example of don't buy something before you research it. But in my defense back then I did not have the internet and there was not much available print media on them. Now there are entire web sites devoted to them.

Good Luck with them!! They rock :headbang:

Well, here they are
the pics aren't all that great, but you know, I'm too busy buying axolotls to afford a good camera
:smt119

This is the albino, Venus, she's supposed to be a girl, but I have doubts

This is the leucy, Cupid. She is the Fresh one. just a little bit of a thing, and she tried to eat like five earthworms as soon as I put her in the tank!

And this is Cupid and Magellan, Magellan was supposed to be calico, but they sent me a normal :smt009 that's ok, I will love him just the same.

I care!

Those things are mega-neat! ("mega-neat?") I've been thinking about getting one, especially since now my goldfish died and I have an empty aquarium with a nice filter :smt010 :smt010 :smt010

Thanks for the links; those are neat little buggers!

Oh yeah... Can you even keep those gigantic salamanders in captivity? (The hellbenders, I mean?) I've NEVER seen those for sale... Then again, I've never seen axolotls either, and those are very popular. So maybe it's just my lack of looking...

They are VERY COOL, esp. in person. Please keep us posted on their progress with you, Tammy! It's fascinating to see such underrated & infrequently-kept amphibians. :)
