Well I am now thinking that Mason is a female. Mason probed 6 scales and males usually 'swallow' the probe. I have another female that probed 6 that is currently being bred by a male at Tony Nicolis house so that is what makes me think this is a female....any thoughts? :smt017

Nice progression pictoral Matt! Well, one thing that is always certain, although you might have to wait until Mason is a bit older, is watching them poop. The hemipenes will evert and you'll get to see proof positive and sometimes a sperm packet will come out. Our massive 6' northern probed as a female, but so far every male we have put in with her has been pretty intimidated and ends up down on ground or far away as he can get. We took her out on the gym for some exercise and got visual evidence (or I guess you could say lack of) that she is female. Who probed him/her? someone extremely experienced? Why did you think Mason was a he in the first place? The tail shape/length method?

Hey Karen,
Tony and I probrd Mason and at the time just thought 6 was boderline but he now has an animal that probed 6 that is being bred so we now are thinking female :smt017

I think both of the NLs we got from Al probed to 5-6 and I know the one we ended up keeping has no hemipenes. If I remember correctly (ask Danny if he remembers) somebody on the corallus yahoo list years ago had a female probe to 8.
