They are here! Finally :P
The male is 65 inches and the female is 73 inches. I'll be keeping very detailed records of food and growth for these two and comparing it with my two normals.

The male looks good, however very flighty. I had to hold him constantly and it was very difficult to get his head still for a pic. He was fine in the house but once in the great wide open again... He decided to try and bite... a lot. They were the waving the open mouth around type, a couple were striaght shots and attempts though. He never got me though, he did get the pillowcase pretty good once :P Hopefully he will calm down eventually. Thing is, when I got home he was fine again. No attempts to strike. Maybe just seeing the great wide open again was too much :(

The female isn't in as good a shape. She is in desparate need of a shed and some TLC. I'm going to work a lot with her. She is a little calmer than the male. Her eyes are still cloudy and she is in shed. Skin is coming off slowly. I'm going to see about soaking her again tonight.

Anyway, onto the pics...

side note...

if my superjamp is 50% superdwarf and 50% jampea, as it was sold to me as(i have the reciepts too), then look at these photos and see if you can see any kayuadi influence in my "superjamp".

i think this is some good proof that superdwarfs could actually be kayuadi's or kaloatoa's...

You may be correct, or they could just be REALLY closely related. I looked and they definately look a lot like your Kayuadi. I'm going to get some better shots, closer shots, and lots better lit. The sun was just about down when I took those pics. If nothing else I'm very interested in all this.

your right, they could be closely related.... its hard to say, when there is so little info that is available, and some people are so unwilling to share what they know.

but this is Kool- we are all learning something from each other without bickering.

BRAVO ZULU!! :038:

Last night I was unable to get a good pic. The male just wants to take flight. At least he isn't trying to taste my skin anymore. I've touched him a lot in the cage and he is ok with it for a while. Just trying to get him used to being touched and then left alone in a secure place. Tonight I should have someone around to assist in getting a headshot.

I'm all for sharing info.

from just the few headshots i've seen so far - it looks like these snakes are related. i think most of us already had a sneaking suspicion about that.

seeing as how collecting these animlas is prohibited on the islands of kayuadi and kaloatoa(from what i have heard), it makes sense that these snakes are collected on surrounding islands, including many different undisclosed islands (unnamed). so in reality - many "superdwarfs" are possibly being imported into the country at this moment.

it also makes sense that these animlas are scattered all over the place in this general area, and its very possible that the jampea population intermixes with the "superdwarf" population. so even if you were collecting "superdwarfs" on some undisclosed island(unnamed), you could also unknowingly be collecting jampeas.

kaloatoas, kayuadi's, and superdwarfs look so similar to each other - it follows that they could actually be one in the same, with only minor differences in physical appearance.

we could speculate that the kayuadi's, kaloatoa's and superdwarfs are gentic outcropping of the jampea subspecies - that maybe the "superdwarfs" are actually in the process of creating their own seperate subspecies, by filling their archipeligos niche.

i am still trying to figure out where the other people that were involved in this conversation went.

also, i still havent seen any REAL superdwarf pics (pics like the ones we posted)... Jess said she would post some when she gets better, but thats the only other person...

...and this topic is posted on two frequently visited forums.

I haven't seen another Kalaotoa as of yet... I have seen a pic of a superdwarf but I can't remember who posted it or where and it was months ago. Oh wait. I remember the pic of the 29 grams baby. That was cool :)
Again, I'd just love to see them and hear about real experiences :)
