I've seen as low as $3.03 and up to $3.69 between the MA/NH border (Haverhill/Plaistow). :fit:

What is everyone else experiencing?

Donnie's seen it as low as $2.68, but we filled up at $2.88 here in Louisville.

That's weird, Preston in Louisville is where I saw the first effects of the "Summer Skyrocket" in gas prices. My Aunt Margaret and I thought we were seeing things when the prices jumped like 30-40 cents in 24hrs. That was about a month ago.

Prices here are holding between $2.69 and 2.99.

San Antonio is hovering around the $2.99 mark. If you search hard though, you can still find it for $2.69 or so.

$3.39 on the low and $3.89 on the high. and we're in maine where you have to drive 1/2 hour to almost anything. i think we're all getting gouged, but that's just opinion. :)

from what i've heard, canada is pretty high too. something like $3 canadian for 1 liter. and since there's almost 4 liters in a gallon, that's like $12 a gallon. no thanks...

a few stations have been out of gas completely

That's a really really bad sign...

That really really sucks... Was that a recent hike, or has it been that way for several months now?

Around here I think the lowest is like.... Aaah, maybe $3.30 or so. Thankfully I actually haven't had to fill up locally since the hike... The place that USED to have the cheapest is now the most expensive; I think it's at $3.61.

Kara, there was a place just down the road from you guys that was still at $2.99 on Saturday... We filled up there on the way back... It was maybe ten, fifteen minutes away (I think -- O.o )

TIME TO INVEST IN A MOTORCYCLE!!! :P

Maybe now people will think twice before getting a gas guzzling SUV! Hopefully three things will happen:

1. The price of crude will drop/stabilize
2. Our government will get their heads out of their asses and enact a gas tax holding prices at $3/gallon. Many people will cry and moan about this, but the benefits will FAR outweigh the costs.
3. They will use some of these taxes to adequately fund research towards permanent alternative energy sources and not waste our time with this silly hydrogen crap.

For a while gas stations down here in bama were out due to a widespread panic of shortages brought on by retarded newscasters, but now it has settled down a bit and prices are ~$3/gallon for low grade.

We're not going to run out of gas. My dad works for Massachusetts DEP. He's been busy all week doing stuff related to it.

BTW, quit bitching. My truck gets 8 mpg.

I was watching sum study on National Geographic and it sayd that within 30-40 years Earth will be completly out of crude oil. which isn't bad for u older generations...but for me....it's gonna be a real thing i gotta deal with when im gonna be 30, 40 and 50. I really like the idea of the Hybrid cars, but i still think bush is trying to keep the prices high cause of his stupid oil company....im not gonna get started on the bush....but i think he needs to be trimmed... I skateboard just about everywhere i go, but gas prices around here r like $2.99-3.99 it sux...a few stations didnt have gas for about a week, but are now back to selling. it's rediculous....and current crude oil market show's no solid reason for the increased prices.
don't hate me if i got sum facts wrong.....but thats what i know.

Shell Corporation stopped their prices at 2.99 at all stations. Every Shell is at $2.99 a gallon.

Second, the earth will not run out of oil in 30-40 years. The amount that will be pumped will be gone in maybe 100 years, but there are countries that have enough oil to be set for 200 years.

Jesus people, chill.

rbraczyk, first of all their is a shell station right next to my work that sells regular gasoline at 319 a gallon. so shell is not stopping at 299. If the price goes up higher for them, it goes up for us. Second of all, I dont think anyone really knows when the earth is going to run out of oil. I've heard of theories that say we are appraoching peak oil and human beings are going to have to adapt to live without oil if we want to survive (not exactly saying I agree with this either though). Also, three years ago, before we went into Iraq, the price of gas was around 1.50 give or take ten cents. If, in the span of three years, gas prices can double, what the hell is going to happen ten years down the road?... Is gas going to even be affordable for the middle class. I dont know about everyone else, but this is a worrisome issue to me. I'm not panicking, I'm not going to try and store gas away for a rainy day or anything, but something definitely needs to be done SOON!. My two cents

I'm not even driving yet and I'm worried about the gas prices! They are about 3.10 - 3.20 a gallon last time I bothered to check.

Gas is supposed to drop for the next year. Should be around 40 dollars a barrel, or even less according to Steve Forbes, who I happen to think could very well be right.
