A lot of people have noticed this in snakes, especially juveniles. Mine all do it, except for my ancient boa.
Some people think its just the "call of the wild" and the snake is reverting to its "normal" state. I am not sure, but it does make a bit of sense. Most likely, the snakes just feel more threatned than normal and react their normal way. I personally just dont take my snakes out that much anyway so its not a big deal.

One tip: Don't bring him outside.
If you do, just do whatever your doing now so you don't get bit. Is this animal WC or CB? Alot of WC animals will get viscious when they are free because they think they are just that...free. They think they are back in the wild and go into wilderness defense mode. I suppose even CB animals do this. Hope this helps. -Joe

Try switching to f/t as fast as possible. Believe it or not I now feel bad pre-killing mice, guess I shouldn't have had hairless rats as pets. I'm sure I'll get over it though, and I'm sure you'll get used to it if you have to, but just remember you probably won't have to. -Joe
