what do yuo think of the so called spider and silver/butterscotch burms being advertised on KS has anything like this ever crept up before? How soon can I expect NERD Granite burms in 05 or more of a justtin question?
Not to answer for Billy but the spider looks like a fader burm to me.

Yeah they are similar to fader, just another name to sell them proably. Granites maybe tough this year due to a male problem. Labs thogh look good and I have a special double het in the works. :smt023
I agree with Andy and Bill-fader burms. I always thought they weren't proven though...

I don't believe anyone has proven that gene. Bob was in the front but I have seen nothing from him yet. :smt017
Bob doesn't have the Fader project any more. It's switched hands twice since him.

i believe a guy Tom(yea that really narrows it down) something has part or all of fader project and I saw hets being advertised on KS as short as a year ago maybe?
You're speaking of Tom Reagan. He was working with them, but AFAIK, he sold the whole project off not too long ago.

2005 Granites :smt011 Don't think so. Male is being gay! NERD is doing something different with our granite project.
What does AFAIK stand for?
The faders were kinda cool looking...
AFAIK = "as far as I know"

I do not believe that the "spider" burm is a fader. When the original group was imported, there were three faders (2.1), the two males were young and appeared to be clutch mates and the female fader was an adult. Along the same time, another young adult female was imported; it looked similar to a fader but it had a different pattern and a different belly. The eyes were even a little bit rolled up on top of the head. Things got weird because a male fader and the one that looked like fader were bred together, producing all normal looking babies. (potentially double het?) Those babies were dispersed as normals. All of the faders are now dead except for one male. The female fader never bred. The one female that was different, looked exactly what is being advertised as a "spider". The differences are subtle but trust me...the "spider" is not a "fader". I have probably spent more time staring at those animals than anyone.
The one that was "different" died and the one that is being advertised as a "spider" is the first one to hit the scene since the original (that died) was imported about 6 years ago.
I bred the fader male to an albino female and I have a small group of the babies. I traded the adult male fader and some of his offspring for some high end ball pythons. I have no doubt that the fader and the "spider" are two different morphs and both will prove to be genetic. The whole fader thing has been dragged out, but the babies that I produced are the first that will be raised up and bred back to the phenotypical male.
Everyone keeps saying that the faders are not genetic, but no one has ever rasied a baby to breed back to the parent. We should know one way or another FOR SURE in the next 18 months.
I think that it has to be genetic, otherwise, they wouldn't keep showing up.

Thats right Tom it takes time and paitence, something not many people unfortunately have. Best of luck proving that out, to bad about the rest of those burms.

I now own the only Fader burm (Tom is talking about me when he says he traded the project off). I have inquired about the "Spider" burm, along with the T+ Lav albino burms that Gulf Coast has up for sale, but have not heard back from them on either.
Breeding of the Fader is underway, will post updates when eggs hatch.
