I just got my MCP with MCDST.

For those who don't know what that means, you are aparantly not in the Tech industry.

Well, I'm in the tech industry, but I'm a bit out of the loop, so I can't decipher the whole thing. Congrats though! Plus, I don't deal with computers...I play with hardware and power electronics :P

ROFL, what he means is: MCP is Microsoft Certified Professional... MCDST is Microsoft Certified Desktop Technician. He took both exams today and passed with flying colors. I KNEW he could do it. He's da bomb. :smt007

Congrats, man!!!

I'm currently trying to find time to get out to take the N+ test and study up for the MCP. How was the test? What practice material did you use (books, tests, etc.)? Again, congrats!

Thanks Yall!

Hawkeman, I also have my A+ and Net+... If you can pass those two, you can pass the 70-271 and 70-272 that it takes to get the MCDST. From what I gather, a lot of helpdesks are looking at that cert as all the tech knowledge you need to work.

Most of my study was from 4 and a half years on a helpdesk... but I did use the info on the Microsoft website for review the night before the test. ;)

Good luck with that man!

Cool. I take Net+ practice tests for fun now. The only testing center here is small, crappy, and doesn't do IT stuff very often - mostly Electronics & Instrumentation testing so it's tough to schedule testing when I'm off.

I'll eventually get in there and knock that out. There's no real incentive until I decide to move... ...but I would like to put those certs on the wall, ya know?

Thanks for the kind words, man!
