I had the same problem with my girl at first. What you must do is reach in there and grab her. DONT be afraid of getting bitten, Cuz i promise you at her age and size it WILL NOT hurt at all. Just have confidence in yourself, have no doubts, just reach in and grab her. Once you have her out, she'll be fine. If you keep pulling away when she acts like that, she will eventually think "hey if i do this, i get to stay in my home" And do it all the time.

Good luck:)

yes i definately agree. i have a male that just finally calmed down. if she does flip out while you are holding her dont put her back in her tank. keep holding her and dont restrain her. you are probably going to get bit but like JenC says its really not bad at all. confidence is key. good luck.

thanks guys, should i giver her a couple of days to settle ina nd get used to everything?
also she was being fed live and i want her to eat frozen, do you think it will be difficult to transition her over or no cause its a burm?

Or you could start with the hook training. Use hook every time except when feeding. Touch head with hook, pick up part of body with hook, then use hands. I only have three snakes 1.1 retics and 0.1 albino green burm, all know hook means no food and handling next. I would give that a try, almost anything that bites you is not going to feel good. At that age and size her teeth are razzor sharp and allso fragile, a tooth could be yanked out when you pull away from the bite.

burms are usually good feeders i dont think you will have all that much trouble converting it. go from live to prekilled to a really warm frozen thawed. also if she takes a live one you could try a frozen thawed after she swallows the live one. their feeding response usually gets better after they eat one thing.

might be scared, is there a hide on both the warm and cold side of the cage?? do you see any tiny bugs on her? either white or black...i know one is worse than the other, but i cant recall which.

i dont see any specs on her or int he water,
i got her a real good hide box and she went right in but eventually went right back tot he water
I am very concerned?
could she just be real stressed?
maybe i should complete leave her alone for a week or so?

man just take 10-20-30 bites and try to handle her once she is settled in, if this is your first snake, you chose a mighty large one to begin with, trust me, and i gurantee everyone on this forum will agree, if you have a small and "bitey snake" and dont get it used to being handle, one day you will most likely have a very large "bitey" snake

no it is not my first snake and i aware of her size and possibility and not that i am afraid to hold her, i was more concerned b/c i have not seen too many burms that are like her (aggressive and loungy) and i assumed she is stresssed so i gave her some time, my bigger concerns are the time she is spending int he water, if it stress related i want to relieve and the only way i assume to do that is ignore for a lil bit...??

if she is still eating well i wouldnt be too worried about the water bowl thing. mine did that for a few days when i first got him. as long as she doesnt have mites and is still eating it shouldnt be a problem. is she going into a shed?

She's not comming up to a shed is she?

Like everybody else said, just get your hands in there and don't pull away, wacking your hand on the top glass runner will hurt more than the bite ;)
