Thursday I adopted my very sick cousin's 8' Retic, juvenile Red Tail boa, and baby red foot tortoise. These three join the 3 BP's, female RTB, baby JCP, baby corn snake, veiled chameleon, green Iguana, and a pair of juvi beardies.
her condition made it impossible to care for her animals, and my fiance and I were glad to take care of them, but I had to leave 6 other snakes In her boyfriends care,(or lack there of) which is weighing heavily on my mind, I offered to take the other snakes as well, but I think he sees them as a chance to make money, and not something that need care and time.
the retic was in pretty bad shape when I got her home, very dehydrated, and in need of a meal, I have treated both snakes for mites, got them some water, and the retic took a med rat last night with no hesitation. It has been really satisfying to see these animals come around so quickly, I will get some pics up soon, of the whole family, and see what I can do about getting the rest of those snakes away from the boyfriend.
seeing as she is my first retic, any info that i might not have found on the NERD website, or the Kingsnake caresheet would be great.
