View Full Version : Austin Stevens snake master??
If anyone else watched his show last night. you will realize what a friggen fake he is. he just happened to find one of those pig-nosed soft shell turtles in a river, and when he was rock climbing! i almost fell of the couch laughing.. he is the worst tv host ever. just my opinion.
Please share yours! :smt023

You know... You really have to ignore the narrators of these documentaries and just enjoy the animals they show us. They all maybe hokey, but atleast we have the opportunity to see animals we all love and enjoy. Their are much worse things on TV. I for one enjoy any and all wildlife documentaries, no matter how bad the person doing the show is. And another thing.... Imagine if you were in their shoes..... How lucky would you feel? I know I would be thrilled to holy heaven to be able to travel, interact with animals, and see the world as it is supposed to be. I am sure they arent the ones that write the script for the show... They all do have producers and directors.
Croc Hunter
Jeff Corwin
Rob Bredl
Austin Stevens
Mark O'Shea
I watch them all, every chance I get. No, they arent the best hosts, but who gives a shit... I watch for the animals, not the person telling about them.
Just my opinion, but who am I

C'mon! you have to be impressed with the guy (Rob Bredl sp?) running around barefoot hitting giant crocs in the face with buckets! Thats good TV right there!
And Jeff Corwin rocks!
Jeff Corwin and Rob Bredl are two of the best. I also like Steve Irwin, though I dont agree with his handling techniques at all. I do not like Austin Stevens, but he has done a lot of conservation just like the rest of them, and for that I give him credit.
I get to deal with herpetologists all day, and I still think Jeff is one of my favourites. But when I look at the work Steve-o and Austin have done to get the conservation messages out there, I really like them a lot more :)

They all rock, short-shorts, cool reptiles, no matter where there from. We've come along way since Mutual of Omahas Wildlife Kingdom. Course' that was pretty cool too.

Man, Austin Stevens is just plain crazy.
I watch him just because of all the snakes, but he is nuts.
ex. "O, lookie!, I found a Gaboon viper swimming in this lake. Why dont i just jump in and catch it barehanded."
Dunno how many of you saw that particular episode, but in it, he actually appears to get bit by a snout nosed cobra..turns out it was a scratch. But my point is the way he acts, he of course is gonna get bit

It was funny seeing Austin Stevens get bit by a Cobra or something like that.... I actually forget what snake it was, but I think it was a Cobra.

I have noticed that Jeff and Steve have changed the way they bring their shows to the public they are more educational then just for the veiws. Although I think Austin is full of crap and I hate the way he presents his shows to the public. Also if you all didn't know most of what you see on these shows is set up or staged. Maybe that's why it seems so fake to you. There is know way you can have about 10 to 12 people that record these shows in some of the place where they are at. Although I don't like the way any of these guys represent their handling and respect of the animals. Although their is one that I did really enjoy his shows and that was O'Shea he did it the way it should be done but you don't see his shows anymore cause of ratings. But I think all of the complaints to animal planet over the last couple of years has made a difference in the way these guys shows are showed to the public.

While I watch to see the animals, I agree that Austin Stevens needs to be tarred and feathered. I am a transplant from Mass to Florida and I think that loud THUMP that I just heard was Kevin falling out of his chair laughing at the Snakebastard's retic episode.

My favorite one is jeff corwin, I don't think the lizards he finds are planted, although some snakes probably are. He offers a lot of passion toward preservation, as well as that hyper as hell steve irwin. I share everyone else's view on the snake "master", he is an idiot trying to make money off of dramatizing the wild and making it look dangerous.
