I have a albino green and he has had mites for a couple of weeks now. He doesn't have a huge amount of mites, I just see one ever other time I inspect him. The vet advised me to rub mineral oil on him. That didn't work and it took all the oils out of his skin and caused some scales on his belly to turn brown. Do you think they will go away after he sheds? Please give me some more websites to order some good mite medicine.

I ment do you think the brown scales will go away after he sheds.
I've never heard of mineral oil doing that but the scales should be replaced when he sheds.
Get a can of Provent A Mite or Equate Tick and Lice Bedding spray and treat the snake and the cage.

Yeah the scales will go away when he sheds. Scrub your tank with a mixture of 1/4 rubbing alchohol, 1/4 dish soap, and 1/2 water. After you scrub that down DO NOT RINSE, then spray it with the prevent-a-mite. Works great, but don't forget to soak everything in the tank to kill the mites hiddin in their. I left my stuff drownt in the bathtub for a couple hours. As for the snake, everybody has their own ideas, but I think you should go to reptiledirect.com (or any where else but it's pretty cheap here) and buy some Benson & Sons Snake Oil. Rub him down with that. It has a pottent smell to you at first but it will kill all the mites and protect your snakes skin and keep it healthy. I use it all the time, and my snake Burm has never had mites. I have cared temporarily cared for several animals who have, and these methods got rid of them never to be seen again.
