Well, as some of you may know I was looking into getting a C/B Baby Afrock.
But, I have decided to get an albino burmese instead. The main reason for this is people have told me that afrocks are not a good first "big" snake. I have been wanting to get into big snakes for awhile now and now I think I am finally ready. The place I was looking to get my burm from is NERD. I want to get it from NERD because I know NERD is a very reputable breeder. Now to get onto the reason why I made this thread. I was wondering if you guys could share some photos of your Albino Burms. It would be great. Also any funny or neat stories you have about your burms.
Thanks.

You cannot go wrong with a burm, especially from NERD. I love Rocks, but I do suggest you get some good time with a burm in before the Rocks.
Also, thanks for not getting pissy when I mentioned I do not recommend Rocks as first time big snakes. I hate when people do that, and all I am trying to do is make sure you are happy with what you get.
Good luck with the Burm!

Thanks for the Pics Fetus! I love Albino Burms I think they are so beautiful. I like Afrocks more but I think I will spend some time with my Burm before I get an Afrock. I have many years left in my life and I'm not going to rush anything. I mean I have heard from several people including you IAN that afrocks do not make good first "Big" snakes. So I think I am going in the right direction with getting a Albino Burm from NERD, atleast I hope I am. So I will probably give NERD a call tomorrow and see whats up. I was also wondering if I should get a female or a male if anyone has any advice on this please help. Also keep those pics coming please.
Thanks.

Well, males generally stay smaller than females, but with burms "small" is relative. Temperment really doesn't vary between males and females, so there it is hard to say which on is "better". Just choose the one you like the best!

Hi Joe, What Ian says is true males due tend to stay smaller my 15yr old male that does shows is just pushing 14 feet. He only weighs about 75 pounds because he only eats rats which is proably a good thing since he goes all over the place when I do shows. As far as temperment you have to handle them on a regular basis, also do not forget about the feeding response. If it was up to burms they would eat every day so always first approach them with caution, just to let them know its not snack time. I also believe we still have a few babies left but not very many. :smt023

LOL! Its true I was just wondering if you guys had any different experences with males or females at all. I know in the end it is all just prefrence.

I do that with all of my snakes. I make sure they know its not feeding time before I pick them up. Also I will give you guys a call (NERD I mean) today.

Thanks for the advice guys.

First I just want to say thanks Bill. Also I want to let you guys know that I placed my order for my Albino Burm today. He should be here on Tuesday (Providing the weather is ok). I also order an ATB.

PS- Bill, I was wondering if I could change that order for the Garden Phase ATB to a Yellow ATB. I was looking at pics and realized that I really like the yellows. If you could do that for me it would be much appreciated. I know they are a little more expensive. I think on the site it says $85. Thanks.

Rocks are awesome I just think it is better if I spend some time with my Burm before I get an Afrock.

I love burms and have 2 of them they are great snakes and are normally dont have much aggression. I have never had any problems with either of mine the male gets a little nippy now and then. If you go to the pic forum I have a pic of them under First post of pics.
