I would not try it. Two way to different snakes. Try Carpet to Macklots, its a winner. :smt023

Diamond crossed to a carpet is not a hybrid...it is an intergrade as they are different subspecies of the same species.... The rest, yes, would be considered hybrids. Bill is right...the carpet macklots cross makes one hell of a snake. Problem is that it shouldn't be possible to make this cross but Kevin has done it. Weird stuff!

Intergrades, aren't they just naturally occurring hybrids?

Yes. The whole species concept as defined by ability to breed is out the window basically when it comes to captive animals - even if two distinct species (here two species from different genus') produce fertile offspring in captivity, they are still scientifically considered legitimate species if the ranges/ natural habits of the species involved do not overlap - the species couldnt meet to breed in nature, negating the possibility of a cross.

Cheers.

So then would say a Malaysian red blood (Curtus Brongersmai) crossed to a Sumatran black blood ( Curtus Curtus ) be an intergrade?

Based solely on the species concept by which many (most?) people define species, if the species can encounter one another naturally, and their breeding behavior matches (i.e. nocturnal breeding, same breeding season, etc.) then they are not distinct species. That is why the nomenclature is so interesting ....

one of the females...sporting the "khaki" look...some shift between this and a cocoa brown color..curious and strong snakes for their size...

Now you can add one more hybrid to the list. Woma x Irian Jaya (West Papuan) I believe.

I realise that there have not been may hybrid snakes produced, but as anyone noticed that there is a diferrence between different male female crosses. I noticed that the carpochondro at spitfire looks much different beeing from a GTP female than the ones from capet females.
