Not sure what got me into them really, I suppose its a list of things about them. Their intelligent personalities, all the different colors they come in, and a snake that demands respect. They are just beautiful snakes to have all around imo.

The love of the snakes first. Then the intelegence (sp?), i find that very interesting on how smart theu are.
Oh, and i guess all the beautiful ones out there. :smt004

I'll be honest, it was the size, I wanted to be known as the guy with the huge snake. Then as time went on it was the shape of the head, used to remind me of a swan for some reason. Now i keep my snakes quiet around people that dont know and appreciate and learn from them as i go. Funny how the world/people change.

I find them very intelligent - and the Albinos knock seven bells out of any other albino boid out there.

The size, intelligence and variations of this animal is what got me into Retics.

The size was the main attraction for me getting into retics, althought the pattern of a normal retic is second to none.

The eyes and the pattern with out a doubt! The iridescence was amazing. Then when I had seen my first tiger...well that just sealed the deal for me.
Kevin said I was a little girl if I kept buying Burms, So I got some Retics. Now he says I'm just a little Peekachu. :smt102 :smt022

id say the eye captured me from the get go..... and I love retics from the bottom of my heart and always will and pray someday I get to work with the big guys again but till then IM trapped in the PEOPLES REPUBLIC OF MASSACHUSETTS :smt022
For me it was their color and intellegence and actually their behavior. I could spend a lifetime trying to figure them out.

I was almost ready to go totally venomous before I got my first Retic. She was and still is, a very aggressive snake. The challenge of working with a snake like that got me right into them. Also they are so beautiful, IMO the most beautiful of all reptiles. There intelligence and activity level is another appealing factor. From there on in, I keep only a few venomous and focus mainly on Retics.

Absolutley their pattern, and the morphs. Also because that I like to different island types (and mainland)

For me it was just something about their size and the beauty that goes along with them. PLus look at the retic morphs available now, theres simply something for everyone
The albino's and tiger's got me into it. We bought an albino male and a het tiger female to start. Since then we picked up an adult normal female. I think normals are my favorite now. Weid how that worked.

My first retic was a 10ft normal I got as a rescue, she has always been a really sweet snake, she was a great snake to introduce me to retics, I've been hooked ever since.

The first time I ever saw a retic outside of a book was at Barnstable County Supply in MA in 1992. The thing was in a 55 gallon tank and about 5 feet long. I remember walking past the cage and staring. The snake looked back with those orange eyes. The guy working there walked up to the cage and the snake struck at the glass trying to get to him. He said he would give me a great deal on the snake, because it would bite him any chance it got. I bought it 2 weeks later, and it never bit me.
Awesome, Intelligent snakes!!!

Thing that got me into them was a picture of a Silver Jampea. I've seen it everywhere--the one pic that's an above shot, showing the top pattern and some of the sides. It's SUPER SILVER. After seeing that, I was like "Must. . . have . . . retic!!!" Ever since seeing that pic, I have been in love with them. Some day, I want to find me a super silver retic like that one. I LOVE the silvers. :biggrin2:
*edit: Here's the pic. I hope Bob doesn't mind. The first search I came across had it at Bob's website:
