Forgive my my ignorance. Barnecks? Is that their common name? Could someone give me a little more info. Temperament, cost, husbandry, growth etc.

Thanks for your kind words, guys and girls!
@ Jsaunders: Barnecks is the common name for the population of Morelia amethistina, who lives in northern Papua New Guinea. They are smart snakes, semi arboreal, so slender snakes wich lenght you can easily underestimate and that could reach 15 feet, able to reach half of their lenght with a single, explosive jump. They have a very good vision, deep sensorial pits, a huge feeding response, very territorial, and with teir mouth full of very long teeth. All this peculiarities, gave them their bad reputation of nasty biters. Actually, their temperamnt is not so good, but they can be accustomed to be handled with a regular routine.
They are not so available here, in Europe, and their cost is around 250-300€ for a CB baby.
I want to point up that they are not the blood-thirsty beasts they seems, ageing they calm down, and are very hardy and rewarding snakes.
Definately I love them!

Here you are few pics of another female of mine, lemon, a WC scrub python.

Gorgeous Scrubs! If they didn't get so large, I'd definitely have one. :)

I thought those looked eerily similar to the Amithistine Pythons I saw at the show. I love how velvety they are.

Seriously, I am amazed. Amethistinus is one of the most beautiful Morelias!
The only pain is that they grow so big!
