My Fuscus does this when she's gravid(3 years in a row now). How long have you had them paired up for? Any copulations witnessed? Is the male still interested?

They were paired up a lot last season... copulation confirmed at least once. Then she completely did nothing. Full dud, no babies, no slugs... nothing. We had just been thinking about putting the male in again this year when she swelled up on her own and now she's doing this.

They were together a few times in April and copulated like mad.

I would say she's gravid?? Sperm retention is always a possibility. I had it happen with Black Bloods in 98. All but 1 egg was fertile too. I am wishing you much luck, I need more Papuans!!! Get your incubator ready!! Has she shed yet recently?

She last shed Oct 12... I had told Donnie was getting bigger. Much bigger than she should have been getting from her meals.

Do you have a nest box for her?? I would give her one with some damp moss. usualy 25-30 days after her shed she will lay!! Good luck!!! Is she still staying on the heat?
