Woa....
NH went in a bit ago...... Do you know your den crivice????
That is a very nice yellow
Amazing what the window is....i saw some go down in early september while others stayed out...it seemed that some were just in a hurry to hibernate!
How many snakes have you seen in this den? Is it any good?

I never found a den when I was on collection tours in Texas, New Mexico and Arizona in 1994/1995/1996/1998/2000/2002, but I remember the exciting feeling when I found a single rattlesnake!!!!
When I found my main target klauberi, this moment was magic to me!!!!!

Man, that yellow almost looks like the some of the lighter colored canebreaks I used to find when I lived in Georgia. Nice.

I have seen many individuals at that site with Jiminy. Most very yellow like that guy but also a couple of awesome looking dark ones. One with almost spade shaped markings that I called minuteman due to his 13 rattle segments! I have seen at least 7 or 8 individuals at this site over the past year. Also have seen copperheads and many black racers here. Jiminy has even seen a milk with a Timber and a watersnake higher up the same hill. Very productive area. Hope it stays that way.

November 27, 2006. Was a pretty warm day about 65 I guess. Checked the same den area again that Jiminy spotted that Timber rattlesnake. I found another. Was a different snake for sure as much more plump and more rattle segments. Also had a couple of red marks on the head maybe healing wounds from a fight with something? Watched it for a while and then it headed for its den at about 3:30 in the afternoon and as it entered it rattled just inside the rock opening for about 5 minutes. Then gone, maybe for the season? May try again as it will be warm again on Thursday. Very good year for sightings. MAybe global warming is good for snakes. I do not mind it either as winter sucks.e

Two more timber rattlesnakes out today. Saw with Jiminy and Kevin. Same two snakes as both had lesions on the skin. November 30. Very late to be seeing anything. Incredible. Hope they survive the winter. Lets hope it is short and mild.
