I have an adult albino corn snake, and it looks like he has managed to bruise the tip of his nose. I have him in a tank with a wire top, and I think he may have done it by pushing against it while roaming around the tank. If it is a bruise, how would I go about treating it?
Thanks!

For treating the bruise you can use standard antibiotic cream from a pharmacy. I would try putting some kind of backing around the sides of the tank, sometimes if a snake is nervous, he will rub on the screen top looking to escape. Backing works for me, as my tiger went off feed due to movement on the sides of the cage distracting him. Hope that helps--good luck

i would strongly recommend a different cage. aquariums are made for fish, and are very impractical for snakes. if you absolutely must use an aquarium, block off the back and sides with dark paper or cardboard, and i would recommend putting a glass or plastic top with only small screen vents in the middle, since the snake is probably rubbing near the edges of the top. plastic cages designed specifically for snakes are available, and not overly expensive.
good luck
