Don't really know an average but I'm guessing a lot has to do with weight when they're bred. My female was over 2300 g and probably could have bred last year but I didn't have anything worth breeding her to then. She laid 8 perfect eggs for me. I bet last year when she was smaller the production would have been much less.

Though i dont breed BP's myself yet. Ive read on a couple forums that a good average is for every 300 grams the female is, you can expect 1 egg. i.e. 1500 grams = 5 eggs, 3000 grams = 10 eggs, etc

One of my females laid ten eggs as her first clutch, this was a around 7 years back, she is now 3300g i dont know the weight she was then but was a hell of a lot smaller. She now lays 11 eggs witch seem bigger.
My other females all seem to go by the 1 egg per 300g body weight thing though.

I can't wait til she drops this year John, as there should be 14-15 eggs coming from her.
