hello, i know i have been away this forum for a while.
i had some issues with school and stuff... they all over by now:icongrin:
well i am realizing im in need for a rack for my ball pythons, but i dont wanna buy a premade rack. I prefer building it myself.
I would design it myself but i dont even know what size of tubs i will use fot hatchlings/juveniles/adults, can they all have same height
if i could just get the sizes for the tubs i think i would be able to design my own rack pretty easily.

I would use shoebox sized for hatchlings/small balls, & up to maybe 2'x4' or so for very large adults. I think most people use the shoebox/sweaterbox combo cuz 2 shoebox's generally take the same space as a sweaterbox so it makes the racks changeable.

I believe the tubs you're wanting are something like the Sterilite 1754 and 1756. Two 1754's can be placed in the same space as a sideways 1756. I believe those are 32qt and 15qt, and both are 6.375" tall.
What I read was that the easiest way to determine the space necessary between each shelf is to actually get the tubs and place two pieces of paper folder in to quarters on each corner, then set the shelf on top of it. Mark where it's at, and drill/attach it with your desired method.

I'm no electrician, but that looks safe enough. I've heard heat cable isn't all that great, stick to the flexwatt.

i think im still going through heat cable...
im trying to figure out a way to flexwatt an 6 story high rack, with the option of switching from a single flexwatt for a 1756 sterilite.. or 2 flexwat's wired as i showed for two 1754 sterilites
