In my work at PETCO I come across a lot of animals that need to have new homes found or just out an dout rescued from the situation that they are in, mostly ball pythons. Me and my co-worker/good friend, Joby King, do a lot of that rescue work. Today I was given a pair of Rankings Dragons that are in terrible condition. They are extremely emaciated and the female has a slight eye infection in both of her eyes. The male will eat on his own but the female cannot see her prey so I have to force feed her. Their story is actually a very sad one. They had a very dedicated owner and were fat and happy lizards so I've been told. She started a new job though and didnt have time for them anymore so she gave them to her sister thinking they would be well taken care of. Needless to say they weren't. Another of my co-workers got a call from her and she told him that she no longer wanted them and that the lizards were in bad condition, she didnt tell him how bad. So he brings them into PETCO this morning and I take a look at them and decide I'll do what I can with them and here they are now. The male looks like he has more hope than the female but hopefully they will both pull through. You don't see these around here ever so if they pull through I will have the only breeding pair in the area.
