My girlfriend and I have been thinking about getting a house snake but don't know much about the temperament of this species. Anyone out there have any experience with them? I have read that they are pretty easy to care for but other than that nothing much on how well they tame down.

if you have an african rock, i would not worry about a little colubrid.

We`ve kept 2 before, they are quite wriggly and when their tiny you need to be careful incase you hurt them, but as for temprement, thewy are generally very tame.

Brown(African) House Snakes originate here in South Africa where I am from.
They grow to about on average 4foot in length, have the same temperament of a Corn Snake and the care , breeding, feeding etc is the same as for a Corn Snake.
Various morphs are also now coming to the fore with, Amel, Ghost and Grey Phase now being available. I am attempting to produce a Leucy BHS, I don't know if I am ever going to achieve it though.

Some Pics of what I have.
