Ular the Great! (in a not-so-great picture)

Here is a picture to show you what his new home is like. Here is Ular having an afternoon soak in the warm waterbowl.
(Sorry, I only had a disposable handy, and I'm no photographer, but I will hopefully be able to get some better pictures of him soon. )

When that picture was taken, I had him on Repti-Bark for a substrate. I've since switched him to Cypress Mulch and he loves it! He burrows all over the place in that stuff. He loves his water bowl, his hide, his mulch. He has a great appetite and is just a little doll. I've not tried handling him yet because I am waiting for him to eat at least 6 good meals before pressing my luck with stressing him out.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy seeing him. I know I enjoy having him here!

LOL! Awesome names! His name is actually Ular Merah which means "red snake" in Sumatran. Yes, I did lots of research naming a snake who could really care less, but I'm obsessed like that. :biggrin2:

I wuz gonna ask where the name came from... Nothing wrong with researching names; I was originally looking up Japanese names for Rage and Tao, but decided to stick with things I could remember. :P

My little Borneo is named Kina...short for Mt. Kinabalu, the highest peak in Indonesia. Nerdy snake names are the best!

That's an awesome name! Thank goodness this forum allows reptile nerds to unite since all of my other friends think I'm crazy. lol

Ular and KC both currently reside on my Baker's Rack in my dining room. The bars on it make great places for hanging heat lamps! Plus, with it being all metal, no fire risks! :) My mom bought me that thing for Christmas and she is just sooo thrilled that the Baker's Rack is now a Snaker's Rack (coined by my wonderful fiance Joey). :)
