I use cypress mulch for one of my snakes and often bake it to kill any unwanted stuff before use. This last time I accidentally burnt a little bit of it. I removed most of the burnt and used the rest in the tank, and this is the first time i've ever seen mold grow on the cypress. I'm assuming it's eating the little bits of burnt that are left because it seems to be starting to go away and not spreading, I haven't changed the stuff back out yet because I needed to get more mulch, I've just been spot cleaning, but now as it appears the mold is going away and the snake doesn't seem to care I'm thinking I can just leave it. My question is basically, is this a bad idea? is the little bit of moldiness a health concern?
