i am new to this species, but my 3 borneos all take frozen thawed. They don't usually stike and wrap off of tongs like my boas. I wiggle it in front of them and they stike it a couple times (almost looks like defensive strikes), then I just leave it and it is gone in the next 10 minutes. I think, making them strike it is not necessary, but I figure it gets their hunger instinct going.
