Hi everybody, I know this sounds like a question for a newbie, and I think I know the answer, but my nephew has an adult corn snake which they were feeding 2 f/t fuzzies per week, and now have switched to three twice weekly.

I think they could go with 1 or even 2 adult mice guaging him by the size of his girth. Is it reasonable to feed him adults? It seems to me that they have bee underfeeding him especially since he has been so nippy.

Thanks for your help.

Tom

P.S. I already told them to start feeding him adults but they want to hear it from someone who knows more about corn snakes. The pet store employee tells them that he should not eat anythig bigger than his head!! Really???

Yes. I think that it would be better to feed it a slightly bigger meal than feeding it more smaller meals, I would not jump straight into adult mice, mayby keep it on 1 or 2 jumper mice a week or a small adult mouse for about 2 - 3 months and then move it up to adult mice, but just if you are going to give it a bigger meal dont make the meal to big and then it struggles or regurgitates.

Thx, Brad... they are already up to feeding 1 adult every 5 days and he seems to be doing better. My sister asked if they could feed two every week b/c there is not even a noticeable bulge after the one mouse. I told her I'd ask, but I think it would be fine. What do u think?

No Prob, well I think that would be alright, I feed my Adult corns 2, sometimes 3 adult mice a week, but mine are going on about 1,2m so they manage it easily, my bigest corn snake sometimes takes rat pups or rat weanlings, I guess thats why he's my biggest, haha, But i think that would be perfectly fine Tom.
