Normal, wild-type ball pythons are beautiful snakes, greatly variable in appearance. Coloration ranges from dark brown to high yellow & burnished gold, all on a sooty black background. They may be reduced or extremely "busy" patterned, with bands, dorsal stripes or "alien faces" on their sides. These hardy, docile snakes are exceedingly popular in herpetoculture and truly offer something for everyone, whether natural earth-toned beauty or the crazy genetic paint jobs of their color mutation counterparts.
