Ringers are characterized by a band of patternless white scales, typically located on the posterior 1/3 of the snake's body.  This white band is often bordered by orange or yellow pigmentation.  The white markings on ringers may be subtle or extreme, ranging from a thin band (or even ventrolateral striping) to a large patch of white.  The inheritence of this trait varies from bloodline to bloodline; some may be dominant or recessive, while others do not appear to be inherited in a recognizable manner.  Ringers also turn up every year in shipments of CH & WC animals from Africa, and are often available on the open market.
